Renew a Driver’s License in New Hampshire

There are a few different ways to renew a New Hampshire driver’s license or state ID. You can renew:

If you wish to get a REAL ID when you renew, or if you have a commercial driver’s license (CDL) you’ll have to visit in person.

Renew NH License Online

You can renew your New Hampshire driver’s license or non-driver ID online if you received a renewal notice in the mail with a Renewal Identification Number (RIN) on it. You will need your current license or ID and access to a printer to print your temporary license.

To renew online, visit the DMV online portal and:

  1. Click “Continue to Online Driver’s License Renewal” or “Continue to Online Non-Driver ID Renewal.”

Renew NH Non-Driver ID at a Drop Box

If you are not eligible to renew a non-driver ID online, you must use a drop box to complete the transaction.

NOTE: This service is unavailable for driver’s license renewals.
